I’m Back to BBG!

On September 15, 2018September 18, 2018 By toriIn Fitness1 Comment

After a very long (and sore) 12 weeks of BBG Round 1, I said I was done. I didn't think the program was for me. Although I loved the structure of the program, it was a little too high impact for me given that I was also running three times a week on my off …

Something I’ve gathered from my past few years of life is that things are inherently out of balance. I feel like I’m the ring leader of a circus without the first clue of how to run a show! Last night, I was packing a suitcase well past midnight knowing that I had a 7am spin class. Part of me was ready to forfeit, but I then realized that was why I had to go. Last week, I overextended my hamstring and wanted to cancel my class because I didn’t have my normal full range of motion in my leg. If I cancelled last week and cancelled this week, I’d be getting nowhere and I’d never reach my goals. It’s going to be a few days before I can sleep in and rest but I’m ok with that. I literally have blocked out time on my calendar to sleep 💤 . Sometimes you have to do what you need to do to recenter. Nothing would be easy if nothing was hard. . Oh and happy Valentine’s Day if you’re celebrating. And happy almost day after Valentine’s Day if you have full intentions of sliding through that discount chocolate sale tomorrow. . Breakfast this am was eggs & avo . . . #fitness #wellness #health #bostonblogger #foodblogger #foodphotography #healthyeats #paleo #avocado #breakfast #allergyfriendly #foodallergies #lactoseintolerant #dairyfree #jerf #organic #wheatfree #glutenfree #nutfree #fitnessblogger
Every week, I try to take at least a half day, if not a full day to myself. I call it a “self date” but it’s more than that. I’m guilty of working thru lunch, eating breakfast while I make my coffee, and eating dinner while I send emails. Sometimes things aren’t balanced. So that’s why I try to block out some calm time weekly. It gives me something to look forward to, and it’s usually something super simple, like grabbing my favorite food and eating it in peace without electronics. Sometimes it’s that extra yoga class 🧘🏾‍♀️. Either way, the point is to make time recalibrate. I may or may not be planning my self date for next week already ☺️! . . . #wheatfree #glutenfree #nutfree #dairyfree #salad #sweetgreen #lunch #jerf #healthy #postworkout #cleaneating #foodie #bostonblogger #foodblogger #fitnessblogger #foodphotography
One thing I’ve come to learn as an adult is that sometimes you will a have a rough day. It happens and you’ll pull thru. Yesterday, I was supposed to be in 2 places at the same time, and since it’s not 3019, that’s not currently possible 🤣. I had to prioritize and make a decision. I also locked myself out of my home, which cost me value time I didn’t have to get back in and gather my belongings. I felt like I was running a never ending race until the evening. It’s difficult to make good food choices when your brain is ready to call it quits and lay on the couch. But then I remembered the workout I scheduled for this am and how I wanted to feel during my workout. I love fries as much as the next person but I realize it’s tougher to workout with limited fuel. So I went and got this salad with cauliflower, chicken, avocado, and seaweed salad. I often hear the phrase “practice how you want to perform” and although my interval spin workout was a straight savage this morning, I was all here for it 💁🏾‍♀️. . . . #wheatfree #nutfree #shellfishfree #dairyfree #healthyfood #fitfood #foodstagram #fitnessblogger #foodblogger #foodphotography #cleaneating #foodallergies #allergyfriendly #bostonblogger #foodie #allergylife #paleo
