I wasn’t always a die-hard foodie. I spent the first 18 years of my life surviving on grilled cheese and chicken nuggets; fruits and veggies were few and far between. When I started going to the gym on a regular basis, I realized that I needed fuel. The chai tea lattes, burritos, sandwiches and chips weren’t going to cut it. Living in Philly and now in NYC, I’ve had the opportunity to try many different restaurants offering healthy options. It hasn’t always been easy to find nutritious food that is free of peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish (allergic to them) and dairy (lactose intolerant). However, the restaurants below are all places that I’ve visited and loved! Some are completely nut-free while others are not.
