I can’t believe that my first week of BBG is already over! I think I’ve jumped up and down more times in the past week than I have in years. Last year, I had some pretty bad shin splints for several months, so jumping was out of the question. These workouts are forcing me to get back to the movements from middle school gym class, and that’s not a bad thing!

What surprised me the most about these workouts is how hard they are! I’m usually able to make it through all 7 minutes of a circuit, but after that I take a 60 second rest to drink water and catch my breath! I don’t think I’ve ever done anything for such a short time period that left me so exhausted!

That leads me into the next thing-I’m so sore! Every morning when I wake up, something else is tired from the previous day’s workout. Whether it’s my triceps from the dips or my hamstrings because of I don’t even know what, my body is clearly challenged.

Nevertheless, I’m glad that these workouts are pushing me. I know I would be bored with BBG if it was easy. I can’t wait to see what week 2 has in store for me tomorrow. Today is my rest day, and I plan to do just that. I’m going to celebrate every week of this process, and today’s celebration calls for some meditation and pumpkin bread!
